A transit chart is a map of the sky in any moment that when compared to your natal chart, offers insightful guidance and predictive information. Below you will see a transit chart for the date April 27th, 2024, which is being compared to Johnny Appleseed's natal chart from January 22nd, 1985.
Here you can see that transiting Pluto in the 3rd house is conjunct (aligned with) Johnny's natal Sun at 2 degrees of Aquarius. This is a very powerful time in Johnny's life because he is coming into a whole new identity after having underwent significant personal transformations. He is currently learning how to stand in his power and express his authentic voice. If he navigates this major life transit successfully, he could come out of this period feeling more control over his life, clearer about his direction in life, and better able to make impactful decisions with his newfound convictions.
While planets in your natal chart are always stationary, planets in a transit chart reflect the real-time movements of planets in the sky and how they affect you internally or through external events. Understanding the nature of each planet helps you derive deeper meaning from the actual changes occurring.
The reason for my description above about transiting Pluto conjunct Johnny's natal Sun is because I know that Pluto is the planet of power, control, and self-transformation while the Sun is our core identity, our Ego, and how we ultimately express ourselves in the world. The 3rd house, where this transit is occurring, tells us the area of life where the action is unfolding. The 3rd house is about our communications, how we learn and perceive information and how we express ourselves to get our needs and wants met. This is why I mentioned that Johnny was learning to express his "authentic voice."

While there are certainly aspects being made by planets moving in the sky to each other, when and where these transits affect you depends on how they align with the individual planets in your natal chart. Collective transits can be felt by everyone, but they do not affect everyone in the same way or in the same area of life. This is why I emphasize always getting a personalized transit reading first before assuming something you hear on social media is actually going to happen for you.

Think of the woman with nothing in her 5th house (children) and she fears she'll never have them. Then one sunny day Jupiter transits through her 5th house and she becomes pregnant... with twins! This is a perfect example of why you cannot assume that just because you have vacant houses, that your life will be vacant there.
Transits always bring lessons, messages, or manifestations. So, it's important to take a look at your transit chart often to ensure you are prepared mentally, emotionally, and physically for any upcoming changes.
