Freedom and Fun, Anyone? ~ A Sagittarius Blog

Updated: Nov 22

Are you looking for an enthusiastic friend who is generous and lively with a great sense of humor? Then look no further than the ninth sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius. Sagittarius is fun-loving, adventure-seeking, and always looking for a good time. (We'll refer to this Sagittarius as a "him" for simplicity's sake in this article.) He is curious, open-minded, and constantly on the lookout for philosophical views to live by. One of his top traits is a hopeful outlook, otherwise known as optimism.

This optimism and jovial disposition have a lot to do with Sagittarius’s ruling planet, Jupiter. Jupiter has been called the “great benefic” and is known for bestowing blessings wherever it shows up in our charts. Jupiter is generous and benevolent, the bringer of luck and happiness. Thus, Sagittarius has a natural abundance mindset. It does not just go through life with the “The glass is half full” attitude; it says, “My glass is overflowing!” For Sagittarius, there is always enough.

There is no better voyager than a Sagittarius. This fire sign loves to travel, seek new experiences, and gain fresh perspectives from other cultures. Movement energizes him, and he will become antsy without it. The motto for Sagittarius could easily be: "Education is best acquired through personal experience." These people feel passionate about coming to their own conclusions about life, and thus, find their greatest convictions through self-made discoveries.

Speaking of experiences, you’ll likely find your Sag friend out on the town, attending concerts, live events, or hosting parties in the comfort of his large, luxurious home. A Sagittarius makes a great friend; you’ll always have something new and fun to try, and you’ll never be bored. Boredom, in fact, is the worst enemy of Sagittarius. He craves constant activity to keep his spirits up and his vitality high. Details bog him down because he is not built for tedious fact-checking tasks. He is better off listening to his intuition and following his gut instincts.

But of course, like every sign of the zodiac, there are some weak spots too. Overindulgence is one of them, and becoming a preacher is another. Sagittarius may be open-minded to a point, but once he finds his truth, he can be judgmental of others who don't see things the same way. Sagittarius may be progressive and open to change, but must also guard against the tendency to want to convert others who may not be on the same page. It is wise for Sagittarius to keep discerning friends by his side. With so much love to give, he can sometimes get the wool pulled over his eyes. He wants to be generous and kind, but needs to be wary of those who would take advantage of his offerings. Naivety and being too gullible can be weaknesses. Lastly, Sagittarius needs to guard against impatience and restlessness. Staying active helps!

Sagittarius as a Fire Sign and a Mutable Sign

This combo is what makes Sagittarius the adventurous sign that it is. Sagittarians are hungry for experience, excitement, and simply the ability to feel with all five senses. Their “go-with-the-flow” nature is due to their mode: they are a mutable sign, which implies that they are open to change as they carry us out of fall and into winter. Freedom

Sagittarius feels most liberated when it is given enough space. In love, friendship, work, and even with family, Sagittarius needs to feel a sense of personal freedom. Freedom to think what it wants, to go its own way, and to create a life that is suitable to its get-up-and-go mentality. As mentioned above, the worst feeling for a Sagittarius is boredom, and second to that is stagnancy. It needs movement to thrive.

It has been said that laughter is the balm for man’s burdens.

This couldn’t be truer for Sagittarians. Humor is their best medicine. Most Sagittarians have an excellent sense of humor. They never take life too seriously, always have a joke up their sleeve, and are strongly connected to what I call “the joy factor” in life. Jupiter and Sagittarius Jupiter and Sagittarius go together like peas and carrots. Jupiter, Sagittarius’ ruler, is jovial and generous, bountiful and benevolent. It wants to bless us, to ensure we have what we need, and to make sure we have fun while we receive. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, and this is partly why we associate it with abundance and expansion. It is considered a “lucky planet,” and many a Sag will tell you they do feel lucky in life. Because of the nature of Jupiter, Sagittarians think in big-picture terms but don't like the intricacy of details. Sagittarius is philosophical and may carry a strong religious or spiritual disposition. His guiding compass is his chosen belief system. When Sagittarius finds something to believe in, he can become a powerful leader and teacher of new thought and higher consciousness.

To Conclude...

Above all the other signs, Sagittarius has the ability to transform mankind through the power of his mind. His thoughts can manifest fast, and his optimism can lead to wonderful outcomes. This then inspires others to think and act more consciously. The ultimate goal for Sagittarius is to keep being the role model for reaching higher levels of consciousness, never stop learning, and help others see the silver lining in life.
